This is the tale of my battle against morbid obesity. I have a husband that supports me no matter what crazy idea I've conjured up, an 18-year old daughter, a 15-year old daughter, and a 13 -year old son. I have a full-time job at The Medical College of WI. I am blessed to have amazing family and friends. I have so much to live for so I'm going to slay this demon and live happily ever after!

I think I'm ready to do some serious blogging today.  I'm feeling good and getting more comfortable with my daily schedule.

Admittedly, I've been procrastinating sharing what everyone wants to know.  At my first appointment with Dr. James Wallace (my surgeon) I weighed in at a frightening 241 pounds.  He suggested I try to lose 10 pounds prior to surgery - just so he knew I was committed to this lifestyle change.  The last time I weighed myself prior to surgery I was 229.  From now on I'll post my weight on Thursday of each week. :)

In a nutshell my day consists of drinking 64 ounces of water; 1 teeny sip every two minutes.  I can't drink 1/2 hr. before or after a meal, or during the meal.  My current diet is in pureed form (not fun).  I eat a teeny spoonful of whatever high protein concoction I've come up with every 2 minutes, and meals last about 1/2 hr.  I also exercise for an hour a day.  I've been breaking up my exercise by taking 4 walks a day.  Zoe's loving that!  I'm sure the neighbors think I'm insane.  Other than my daily requirements, I'm mostly just sitting on the couch watching the Brewers or cross-stitching . . . just biding my time until I need to take my next sip of water.  There are a lot of other things I'd like to be doing but my body is still a little "tired".

If you know me you'd know I'd vacuum every day if I had time.  Sadly, I'm on a 10 lb. lifting/pushing/pulling weight restriction so I may go crazy over the next 6 weeks!

My goal for today is to get the Promotion programs done for Reilly's class.  That's coming up quickly; June 6.
