This is the tale of my battle against morbid obesity. I have a husband that supports me no matter what crazy idea I've conjured up, an 18-year old daughter, a 15-year old daughter, and a 13 -year old son. I have a full-time job at The Medical College of WI. I am blessed to have amazing family and friends. I have so much to live for so I'm going to slay this demon and live happily ever after!

217 - Definitely not what I was hoping for!!!  Next week will be better.  On a positive note, my clothes are fitting much better.  I don't think I've ever been able to zip my North Face jacket, but I can now.  :)  YAY!  I'll consider that this week's small victory.

I was so excited yesterday when I went to get my hair cut.  Jade (my stylist) said something looked different about me, but was hesitant to suggest it was my weight - because she didn't want to offend.  She knew nothing about my surgery.  I filled her in, got a great cut and color, and left feeling really good.

Last night was Reilly's 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony.  It's so hard to believe the Turk kids have been going to Roosevelt Elementary for the last 11 years, and today is the last day I'll have to drop off or pick up from there.  Even more unbelievable is that when Taylor started at Roosevelt I was pregnant with Reilly.  Oh boy, here I go again - crying my eyes out.  I look like a goldfish today with my puffy lids.
