This is the tale of my battle against morbid obesity. I have a husband that supports me no matter what crazy idea I've conjured up, an 18-year old daughter, a 15-year old daughter, and a 13 -year old son. I have a full-time job at The Medical College of WI. I am blessed to have amazing family and friends. I have so much to live for so I'm going to slay this demon and live happily ever after!

158 - and I'm okay with that.  Food Fest at my parent's on Sunday, and I've been on the couch ever since.  Brooke and I went to the walk-in clinic on Monday morning and got tested for strep; both negative.  I'm going back to work today but can't promise anything.  I'm still congested and coughing like crazy.  Yesterday was the first day that I felt like moving so I got a lot of stitching done on Hayden's Christmas stocking.  It's coming along.  I just have to say - daytime television is just not what it used to be.

Great news: 3.875 GPA for second semester.  I'm setting up to be the first Laatsch child that's ever graduated with a gold cord.  (I'm such a Nicole!)

One year from now we'll be preparing for Taylor's graduation.  WOW!!!  Jim and were very productive on Saturday and got a bunch of yard work done.  I keep saying we need to get going on it now.  This yard is insane and I don't want it to look like all new stuff next summer.  We're both off this Saturday, so between soccer and softball we should be able to maybe get another section done, I hope.

My parting thought for the week:  Why do the Walgreens people say "Be well" as you're leaving the store when you're obviously as sick as a dog?  Idiots.
