This is the tale of my battle against morbid obesity. I have a husband that supports me no matter what crazy idea I've conjured up, an 18-year old daughter, a 15-year old daughter, and a 13 -year old son. I have a full-time job at The Medical College of WI. I am blessed to have amazing family and friends. I have so much to live for so I'm going to slay this demon and live happily ever after!

165 - Maybe next week . . .

It's been another eventful week in the life of me.

I had my last Chemistry class last Saturday.  I got an email from my instructor on Sunday letting me know that my grade for the course is (drum roll, please) an A.  Yay!  I finished my Keyboarding and Medical Terminology classes with A's as well.  All that hard work paid off, so far.

Another highlight of the week was my discovery as I was prepared to go to bed on Saturday night:

Apparently, dog shaming is supposed to feature a dog filled with remorse.  Zoe is shameless, and if there was a cartoon bubble above her head it would probably say "The guinea pig made me do it."  Brooke witnessed her jumping onto my air mattress, and scaling the pillows to board the glider in the TV room.  Apparently, Brooke didn't realize what the little stinker was up to.  I was keeping the retainers in the case on a table next to the glider.  Yes; they were in their case, however, it wasn't latched.  I'm going to have to tell this story a little later this morning when I go to the dental clinic to have new impressions taken.

Today is the day we've all been waiting for!  The carpet installers are supposed to be here between 8 and 11 this morning.  I'm being cautiously optimistic.  Maybe; just maybe, we can put our bed back together and sleep in our bedroom tonight.

Jim had an appointment for his teeth cleaning last week.  He sent me a text as he arrived at the office, to let me know that my dentist had passed away.  Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love my dentist.  He was 59 years old and died unexpectedly on Nov. 11.  I am going to miss his gentle touch and incredible personality.

I got the call from Pottery Barn on Monday.  The scrapbooking table was in and ready to be picked up.  Have you ever experienced the bowels of Mayfair Mall?  It's like a whole 'nother community down there with streets and stores.  The table came in three pieces, which filled the Exploder to the brim.  Jim had to drive with his knees up by his nostrils.  An advantage of being short; didn't bother me one bit having my seat all the way forward.  :)  Once we got it home, we had the pleasure of getting it into the house.  Grrr.  Two of the boxes weighed about 70 pounds each, and the other was 88 pounds.  We got the boxes as far as the living room, because the bitching was enough for me for one night.  Last night we finished hauling our purchases to the third floor.  Not as much complaining but I'm so glad we're done with that task.

Reilly had his semi-annual ear procedure on Tuesday.  Thankfully, the ear looks good (meaning that the cholesteatoma hasn't come back).  Dr. Robey mentioned that his mastoid cavity is so small that he had a really hard time getting it cleaned out.  When I got to go back to recovery to see Reilly, I translated that into, "I really had to use force, and your baby's going to be in a lot of pain."  Reilly had a really hard time with the anesthesia this time around; lots of nausea.  He is such a trooper.  We'll go it again over summer next year.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Happy New Year!
